Spirit of Sedbergh Whisky - The Winder Edition
This full-bodied, smoky whisky is named after Winder, the hill which has ‘stood around us unchanged since our days began’. It will linger sweetly on the palate just as the memory of Winder’s clear-cut outline remains imprinted on every Sedberghian.
A Decade in the Making
Cask No. 250 - limited to 296 bottles
The Winder is a peated Single Malt distilled in 2015 and matured for 10 years in a Refill Bourbon Cask, yielding a limited number of
bottles at 46% strength. It is a complex, peaty whisky of considerable power and depth, with a lingering wood smoke finish. It has been aged for 10 years in its original wood.
Sensory Profile
On The Nose
Initial phenolic peat rush gives way to a sweeter, subtler smokiness. The characteristic Annandale orchard fruit fragrancy emerges, with following hints of coconut, tobacco and leather.
On The Palate
Clean, complex with wide spectrum of flavours- sweet cereal, vanillin, creamy buttercake, lychees, cherry, raisins, candied orchard fruits. Underlying clean piney character suggesting sawn wood or wood shavings, with a slight minty astringency.
The Finish
Smooth and creamy yet cleansing on the palate, with lingering wood smoke.
