A Decade in the Making
Cask No. 467 - limited to 289 bottles
 
The Calf is a peated Single Malt distilled in 2015 and matured for 10 years in a First Fill Bourbon Cask, yielding a limited number of bottles at 46% strength.
It is a well-structured whisky, whose initial peat smoke rush gives way to rich, subtly sweet flavours of soft vanillins and tropical fruits. The finish is well held with its fruity texture harmonising with an attractive earthiness, and a bonfire wood smokiness. 
 
Sensory Profile
 
On The Nose
A delicious peaty smokiness merges with fruity, jasmine notes and a grapey/muscat mixed fruit character. The effect is intense, complex and well balanced. 
 
On The Palate
Smooth and well-integrated flavours of honied vanillin underpin a fruity-fresh sweetness, with notes of ginger preserve, lychees, and pineapple. Lingering peatiness suggests burnt leaves or smouldering autumn bonfires.
 
The Finish
The finish is long and well sustained, with deeper traces of floral[1]fruitiness and cask vanillins mingling with a peaty smokiness reminiscent of burnt leaves and autumnal wood smoke.
